I Can’t Wait to Pay off My Last Credit Card Balance

I just paid off the majority of my credit card balances and I’m down to only one.

It’s funny how your mind sometimes gets stuck on the one task you haven’t completed and doesn’t take the time to appreciate the goals that you have accomplished.

In my case, I’ve paid off over $5,000 in credit card balances that have been a journey within itself. I used the snowball method by paying off the smallest balances first which works well for me.

I’m down to just credit card left with a $5300 balance. I want to lay it off within a month together with my husband but it keeps staring me in the face. Ahhh! I’m tired of seeing this balance every day. I’m very tired of it! It’s almost taunting me.

At the beginning of my debt payoff journey, I was motivated, I got a little jolt of extra energy after paying down each credit card.

I let items sit in my Amazon cart. I’ve looked at countless vacation combinations as motivation for the money that will be freed up after I have no credit cards left!

But alas, this morning my husband and I looked at this last credit card and it irked us. It made me think “Shouldn’t I celebrate our small wins? We paid off multiple credit cards together”.

So I decided to just… breathe…I took a breath, hugged my husband and thought “we can do this”.

After this credit card, the next debt to payoff is our student loans. We have come so far I’m our debt payoff journey together.

I shouldn’t be upset or anxious by s number on the screen.

I have to celebrate the small wins and remind myself why we are paying off the credit card balances…to have a life of freedom.

The less debt you have, the more money you keep in your pockets.
