Who am I?

In the hills of Santa Cruz, California with the sunset behind me!

I am a 32-year-old currently living and working in the Austin, Texas area with my husband and daughter.

I work in Tech Partnerships and decided to start my journey towards debt payoff, saving, and investment in order to achieve early retirement by the time I reach the age of 45.

When I’m not working on MyFIDiary, I am busy with my day job, running, spending time with my daughter, watching movies or spending time with my hubby.

Why Did I Decide to Pursue Early Retirement?

I worked remotely for one year while freelancing as an Online English Tutor and Marketing Coordinator in Southeast Asia and Turkey. This helped me see and learn how others were able to live a life full of beauty, community, and fun for much less than it would cost to do so in the United States.

I also have family in Turkey and spent many summers living in Turkey with my family and have noticed first hand how wonderful it can be to live like a local, get out of your comfort zone and focus on working to live instead of living to work.

Why Did I Create this Blog?

I created this blog to document my journey from the very beginning with me paying off debt, saving, investing, and then living my life after I’ve reached financial independence.
